OSRS Crack the Clue Event is Back on 23 September
Crack the clue is a clue seeker (like the OSRS minigame treasure trails) event, rewarding you with a piece of a brand new set of cosmetic gear by completing each. We can track the history of this activity back to 2016. And the second event launched in 2019.
The third event will start at 12:00 BST on Friday, 23 September 2022 (announced on OSRS's official Twitter)! Like the two previous events, it will stay in-game indefinitely.
Crack the Clue I
Crack the Clue I (member-only) launched in 2016. You would obtain the Clue hunter outfits by solving all clues. You can solve all clues now to receive the Clue hunter outfits if you haven't got them yet.
Clue hunter gloves and boots
South-west of the Fishing Guild and north of East Ardougne.
Clue hunter garb
North of the Shayzien station of the Lovakengj Minecart Network.
Clue hunter trousers
Near the entrance to the Pothole Dungeon north of Tai Bwo Wannai.
Clue hunter cloak
Between two willow trees southeast of Yanille.
Helm of raedwald
Near the iron rocks by the cave entrance east of the Clock Tower; Have a nature rune, one dose of super antipoison, and a pair of leather boots in your inventory.
Crack the Clue II
Crack the Clue II launched in 2019. This event was for all members and free players. And the reward was the Ornate armour if you solved all clues. You can still get the armour today and in the future.
Ornate gloves and boots
By the sea south-east of Rimmington and just north-west of the chapel; Have a pie dish in your inventory.
Ornate legs
By the entrance to the Air Altar south of Falador; Have a raw herring in your inventory.
Ornate top
East of the Black Knights' Fortress; Perform the shrug and cheer emotes.
Ornate cape
Outside the Chaos Temple in the Wilderness; Have a goblin mail in your inventory.
Ornate helm
Perform the bow, yes, and clap emotes between some trees south of Varrock.
Crack the Clue III
Crack the Clue III was officially announced on 21 September 2022 and would launch on 23 September. It is available to free-to-play players. You will receive the Robes of Ruin as the reward by completing all clues in the following weeks.
The Robes of Ruin contains a Hood, Top, Bottom, Gloves, Socks, and Cloak. We'll update our blog to tell you how to get them.
The first to solve the clues will have their names displayed in the game.
