Phantom Muspah Changes and Unique Drop Rates
After the OSRS quest Secrets of the North, you can repeatedly solo-fight against Phantom Muspah, the quest boss. It's a good method for OSRS gold making. Some changes have been made in the past few days.
Phantom Muspah Changes
When you use the ice barrage spell on the boss, the probability of successfully freezing it increases.
When you are kiting with Protect from Melee on, the Melee form will always deal 0s instead of normal Melee damage.
You can only receive the Phantom Muspah slayer task when you have completed the Secrets of the North quest.
It will no longer get stuck if you kill it during its teleport animation.
Drop Table Changes
The drop table has been reduced
Yew Seed: Reduced from 3 to 2
Palm Tree Seed: Reduced from 3 to 2
Torstol Seed: Reduced from 6 to 5
Grimy Snapdragon: Reduced from 38 to 31
Grimy Toadflax: Reduced from 86 to 74
Ranarr Seed (Uncommon): Reduced from 4 to 3
Ranarr Seed (Rare): Reduced from 12 to 10
Other Changes
You can now use the Venator Bow in the Barbarian Assault minigame.
The Ricochet damage of the Venator Bow scales to 66% of your Ranged max hit correctly.
You will see max hits when you attack the Player-Owned House Dummy with the Venator Bow.
You can now use Saturated Hearts while you are opening your bank.
Changed the destroy option to drop when you right-click on the Ancient Icons and Charged Ice.
When you drink the Forgotten Brew, it now correctly gives you a +10 Magic boost.
You can no longer open the Frozen Caches on Entrana.
The Saturated Heart is now tradeable. You can trade it to others or sell/buy from the Grand Exchange.
If you kill the boss with the Ectoplasmator (purchased from Nomad for 250 Soul Wars Zeal Tokens) on hand, yielding the Prayer experience equal to 20% of its max health, rounded down.
The Alchemy value of the Venator Shard has been reduced. Never mind, no one will cast Alchemy on it.
Unique Drop Rates
Jagex also released the unique items drop rates of the Phantom Muspah:
Venator Shard: 1/100
Ancient Icon: 1/50
Frozen Cache: 1/25
Muphin (Pet): 1/2500
However, it depends on your luck. These drop rates are only a reference. One of our gamers was lucky and got two Venator Shards in 70 kills.
