OSRS Fresh Start Worlds - the New OSRS Game Mode
In June 2022, Jagex launched a survey on the future modes of OSRS, which included Fresh Start Servers. This mode will be launching soon in October.
What is Fresh Start Worlds?
As the name implies, this is a brand-new game mode with fresh economy and hiscores for new players and accounts.
In other words, everyone needs to complete the tour guide, kill chickens and goblins, help the cook collect milk, eggs, flour, and so on.
Differences between Fresh Start Worlds and the Main Game
There are no differences, but the Iron man mode is disabled. That means the Fresh Start Worlds have the same OSRS quests, skills, minigames, miniquests, and other game content.
How long will it last?
It will last for six months. Then all accounts will be migrated to the main OSRS game. Since it is a new server, why should it be merged into the main game after six months? In that case, there is no difference between creating a new account on the new server and the main game.
Why do they launch Fresh Start Worlds?
Is lumbridge too quiet? Does nobody help the new players? Jagex said they want to see the moment that all players do the same thing!
Players Said
Most players are confused about the new game mode. In the survey, Jagex didn't say it was only six months. Many of you may vote YES to most of the new future modes. Would you vote for it if you knew this?
Some players said that it was 100% a money grab. Perhaps the original intention of this proposal is good, but it may be different for players. I still remember the first day of being a member. A stranger traded me a whip when I was level 30. I sold the whip and bought a bond. Who can give you the OSRS gold coins or some valuable items in the Fresh Start Worlds?
Some other players said that if they could play as an iron man in the new game mode, they might create a new account.
Although it's copy/paste of OSRS as Mod Light said, they still need to do some work. Why don't they spend the time on bug fixes or future updates of the main OSRS?
We think most players will say, either don't launch the Fresh Start Worlds or don't transfer accounts to the main game.
