OSRS Free Quest Guide - Rune Mysteries
Rune Mysteries is an easy-to-complete OSRS quest that will grant you the ability to mine Rune essences and use Lamps and Books on the Runecraft skill. Now help the head wizard Sedridor in his research of creating Runes.
Requirements & Items
There are no requirements for the quest.
Runes for Varrock teleport and Lumbridge teleport/Necklace of Passage (member-only) are helpful in the quest. Or Varrock and Lumbridge teleport tabs for members if you have a low Magic level.
Quest Walkthrough
1. Teleport to Lumbridge, and go to the 2nd floor of the Castle.
2. Talk to Duke Horacio in the northern room (you will find the quest icon on the world map). He will give you an Air talisman. (Chat 2-1-1)
3. Head to the Wizards' Tower basement.
4. Speak to Archmage Sedridor and give him the Air talisman. He will give you a Research package. (Chat 3-1-1)
5. Teleport to Varrock and go to Varrock rune shop, south of Varrock East Bank.
6. Speak to Aubury. (Chat 2)
7. Speak to Aybury again to receive some Notes.
8. Return to the Wizards' Tower basement and speak to Archmage Sedridor to complete the quest.

The ability to mine Rune essence
An Air talisman
The ability to use Lamps and Books of Knowledge on the Runecraft skill.
You will get 5 Kudosm and talk to Historian Minas in the Varrock Museum to claim it if you are a member.
A Money-Making Method - Collecting Air talisman
In the quest, you can drop the Air talisman and speak to Duke Horacio for another.
Repeat until you have 27 Air talismans.
Go to the upper floor and bank them, then withdraw all Air talismans as noted.
Return to Duke Horacio and drop the noted Air talismans. Speak to Duke Horacio for more (be sure you have no Air talismans in your bank or inventory while asking for another).
Go and bank all of them and withdraw all Air talismans as noted.
Repeat for getting more talismans.
Go to the Grand Exchange and sell them for OSRS gold coins.
The method is only for the starters because only around 15K profit in an hour.
